The History of CETT
Enhancing Education

CETT engages in many projects that result in a variety of online courses, interactive websites, animations and content for delivery to educational and governmental bodies. Below is a sample of some of our current and past projects. For more information on how we can help you develop similar materials, please contact us.

Snake ID

Currently, CETT is working with Strayer University to develop a number of online courses including an undergraduate course in Physical Science and a graduate course in Principles of Adult Education. This includes content development, video production and animations and interactive lab development. Courses will be delivered in Blackboard format.

Snake ID

CETT is working with the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (SARE) to develop a new online course that will cover principles of organic agriculture. This includes content development, interactives and animations that will be packaged and delivered to SARE to be hosted via their website.

FarmHouse Fraternity

Since 1996, CETT has contracted with FarmHouse International Fraternity, Inc. and its alumni Foundation to maintain their websites and databases and provide technological assistance to its various undergraduate chapters located throughout the United States and Canada.

SeaClimateChange

In 2012, CETT assisted the Centers for Ocean Science Education Excellence (COSEE) program with a series of workshops on climate change and sea level rise that ran through the spring of 2014. As part of this effort, a companion site, Sea Climate Change, was created to address information that was presented at the workshop and act as a resource for K-12 teachers and the general public who are interested about the latest research concerning global climate change.

COSEE

In 2010, CETT was awarded a RAPID grant by the National Science Foundation to help create an interactive site for the Centers for Ocean Science Education Excellence (COSEE) program.  This site, COSEE Scientists Making an Impact in Ocean Sciences Education, focused on how COSEE scientists and researchers were making an impact not online in ocean science research but also outreach efforts to the general public and educators.  CETT travelled to 12 Universities around the country and interviewed key scientists for this effort.

Snake ID In 2005, CETT worked with the Mississippi State University Extension Service to develop a Snake Identification Search Tool. This interactive system allows the user to identify a snake from a description of its various parts (pattern, color, head shape, etc.) and get a factsheet on the resulting species. The snakes listed in this project are snakes that are indigenous or live in the state of Mississippi. Almost all of the snakes are common to the rest of the southeastern United States.

Tree ID In 2004, CETT worked with the Mississippi State University Extension Service to develop a Tree Identification Search Tool. This interactive system allows the user to identify a tree from a description of its various parts (bark, leaf, color, etc.) and get a factsheet on the lifecycle of the tree and its appearance throughout the year. The trees listed in this project are trees that are indigenous or planted in the state of Mississippi. Almost all of the trees are common to the rest of the southeastern United States.
